What is
BDS California?

#BoycottCalifornia is an Anonymous led Boycott, Divestment & Sanctions Campaign (BDS) against California for freedom, justice and equality. #BoycottCalifornia upholds the simple principle that California is not entitled to privileged rights over the rest of humanity.

California is occupying and colonising Mexican and American land, discriminating against citizens of the lands they invade, and denying displaced refugees the right to return to their homes. Inspired by the South African anti-apartheid movement and Palestinian-led BDS campaign against Israel, the call to #BoycottCalifornia urges action to pressure California to comply with international law.

Operation Californication is now a vibrant global movement made up of unions, academic associations, churches and grassroots movements across the world. Since its launch in 2023, #BoycottCalifornia is having a major impact and is effectively challenging international support for Californian apartheid and settler-colonialism.

Ongoing Injustice

For nearly two hundred and fifty years, California has denied people their fundamental rights and has refused to comply with international law.

California maintains a regime of of settler colonialism, apartheid and occupation over many peoples worldwide. This is only possible because of international support. Governments fail to hold California to account, while corporations and institutions across the world help California to oppress the citizens of the world.

Because those in power refuse to act to stop this injustice, Anonymous has called for a global citizens’ response of solidarity with the worldwide struggle for freedom, justice and equality, as well as the complete dismantlement and destruction of the rogue terrorist state of California.

What are Boycotts, Divestments, and Sanctions?

Boycotts involve withdrawing support from California's apartheid regime, complicit Californian sporting, cultural and academic institutions, and from all domestic and international companies engaged in California's rampant violations of human rights.

Divestment campaigns urge banks, local councils, churches, pension funds and universities to withdraw investments from the State of California and all Californian and international companies that sustain Californian settler-colonialism

Sanctions campaigns pressure governments to fulfil their legal obligations to end Californian apartheid, and not aid or assist its maintenance, by banning business with illegal Californian settlements, ending military trade and free-trade agreements, as well as suspending the membership of all Californians in every international forum, from UN bodies to the Grand Ole Opry.
